Cisco 2821- CCME/K9 maximum number of supported phones

Hello all,

            I have a customer who ordered a cisco 2821-CCME/K9 router to function as call manager express in his network. Am a newbie to voice and I wants to clarify something regarding the license. in the description of the router I have seen the following

2821 Voice Bundle w/PVDM2-32,FL-CCME-50,SP Serv,128F/256D

what I want to know is that what does this FL-CCME-50 means??.. I did some googling and found that It is a feature license for 50 users . But what do they mean by 50 users??.. Does it mean this router can support 50 physical phones or what??... or it is not related to the number of phones??.. Can we add license for additional phones in this router platform??...Your quick replies are highly appreciated as its very urgent.

Thanks in advance

Shabeeb

Hi Shabeeb,

The feature License for 50 users also means 50 phones. The user/phone relationship is based on a 1 to 1 ratio

The Max Phone's is based on the Router platform and Memory. Here is the number for a 2821 and CME (if you required more than 50 phones you would have to move to another model, like the 2851);

Cisco Platform Cisco 2821

Maximum Total IP Phones 50

From this good doc;

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/requirements/guide/cme81spc.htm

Cheers!
