Dear Experts,
being used cisco 2911 CME IP telephone system and the maximum limit has reached 50 user.
what is the solution for new ephones (we need to required around new 50 ephones for new employees ) without upgraded to CUCM.
Management is ready to purchase new Router. As we know 2951 have able to around 150 ephone and 2921-100 ephones capable.
let assume , if purchase new 2951 or 2921 , how to add the router with existing 2911 router.
briefly : i want to operate two router (2911+new) . So the maximum ephone limit 200=(50+ 150)
there have a layer 3 switch also dhcp voice pool assigned in L3 swith. voice vlan interface gateway 172.30.144.1
2911 router fast Ethernet 0/1 interface ip 172.30.144.2
what is the new configuration ?
best regard

Hi Azaf,
The details of platform capacity, endpoints supported and firmware version recommendation are provided at the following link based on the CME version that you need to deploy, you can choose one of the router models by comparing them here
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/unified-communications/unified-communications-manager-express/products-device-support-tables-list.html
CUCM is installed on servers ( 10.x onwards on UCS or specs-based ).
The old 2911 can be used as a SRST or CME router or a simple voice gateway to handle PSTN calls.
You can search online for loads of docs and videos related to CUCM and CME deployment requirements and procedures.

Hi Azaf,
There is no concept as such of clustering in CME like CUCM. There can be single site deployment with single CME or Multisite with independent CME's at different sites as per the CME design guide below
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/srnd/design/guide/cmesrnd/models.html
At best you may use one of the CME's as a backup of other but that too should be able to handle the phone capacity of the primary CME.
So, a batter option is to discuss with your management about the future expansion plans and see if the router model you order will be sufficient to handle the same over next 2-3 years at least, along with the features required by users. Else, consider a CUCM BE solution.

Thanks for you Prompt respond, Appreciated,
kindly let me know, the requirements Migrate CME to CUCM . Such as Router, Licence and Server etc....
so far we have less than 1000 employees and only have around 50 Ephones provided. we need to enhance the limit upto 125-200. so as your preference. which is the best type of license, Router and Server Config .
Additional , is possible to utilize old 2911 Router for the CUCM system?
Expecting your support for the same.
Best Regards
Azaf
