This error message tells me the firmware is corrupt.
Try downloading the standard SIP files (in ZIP) and use that.

Hi Leo
I download the firmware directly from https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=284892536&reltype=all&relind=AVAILABLE&dwnld=true&softwareid=282074288&rellifecycle=&atcFlag=N&release=10.3(1.11)%203rd%20Party&dwldImageGuid=B736B51892800CD791E9F71A5B9953FF41112FA4&flowid=46503
and unzipped it to the tftp directory.
It was working for firmware 11 and also for 11.5 but 10.3 for third party is not working. I do not know how otherwise setup the phone to be used with asterisk.

I do not know how otherwise setup the phone to be used with asterisk.
Search in this forum. I've already helped a few people how to do this.

can we please go back to the issue with the firmware?
Same as before. I've helped some people with this too.
You will need the following:
1. The firmware of the phone (ZIP file);
2. SEPmacaddress.xml.cnf;
3. DHCP Option 150; and
4. TFTP server

|I have all this.
I downloaded the firmware and unzipped it.
I setup the tftp ip address manually on the phone to my tftp server.
I created the XMLDefault.cnf.xml
<Default>
<loadInformation622 model="Cisco 7841">sip78xx.10-3-1-11-3PCC</loadInformation622>
<webAccess>1</webAccess>
<sshAccess>1</sshAccess>
<sshPort>22</sshPort>
</Default>
the firmware is download from cisco website and uzipped. but wont gets loaded

I created the XMLDefault.cnf.xml
The phone version is 10.X. XMLDefault.cnf.xml will NOT be used. I repeat:
You will need the following:
1. The firmware of the phone (ZIP file);
2. SEPmacaddress.xml.cnf;
3. DHCP Option 150; and
4. TFTP server

the phone version is currently 11.5 not 10.x XMLdefault.cnf.xml is used as I can see that in the tcpdump that it's requesting this file and downloading as well.

Hi Here is the tcpdump
there is clearly written it's getting the xml file. also on the phone I see that the upgrade failed. but I do not know why.
