Cisco 7841 on screen setup/speed dials

I have a Cisco 7841 phone that we are using in a lobby with locked doors beyond it.  I am trying to us CM to setup the phone screen to show the speed dial numbers of two people in the building that could let the visitor in.  Is this possible?  If so, how?

 

Everything I have tried so far has been blocked as I am unable to change the defaults in the phone button templates I have tried.

Yes, if you have admin privileges in CUCM you simply configure the phone button template as you need it and then configure the speed dials.

I Jaime.  I do have admin privileges in CUCM and have tried to "Modify Button Items" in multiple "Phone Button Templates;" however, I am unable to modify the first button as it has the line associated with it.  Is there a spot where you can configure a Phone Button Template from scratch (setup a brand new template)?  The only option I see is to Choose a template that has already been setup.

You cannot alter the function of the 1st button, it will always be the line.

And no, there is no option to set a template up from scratch. You always need a copy of the predefined templates.
