Hello this may be stupid question but I am a programmer not someone who administers phone networks normally.
We have a cisco SPA504G that works with an online voice of IP voipoffice setup. I think this uses SIP protocol?
We have been give a pair of cisco 7945 phones that seem to require a call manager application and work with a different protocol.
My question is simple. Can we upgrade the phone/change firmware so that it will work with a voipoffice??
If so how?

Yes, however Cisco phones are mainly meant to work with Cisco Communications Manager and cisco does not give any support or indormation for making them work with third party system.
If you vendor will take charge and guide you on how to that, that's good, otherwise I'd recommend you use something else for your hosted VoIP solution.

Any instructions or website link on instructions how do make the phone work?
Is it just a case of installing a SIP firmware on the phone?
