Cisco 7970 answers with speaker

Suddenly this 7970 started answering calls with speakerphone... If I disable speakerphone calls are lost. Changed device mac address with same result so my first guess is a line and not a device issue. Using CM4.

Check the auto answer setting on line to see if it is On by any chance.

Hi,

In addition to what Mr. Chris has said, there is  possibility that you are hitting the bug even though CCM version is 4 in your case.

On 7970 speaker button goes ON/OFF even after disabling speakerphone

Symptom:1.Register 7970 phone to CCM (5.0.1.51-31). 2.From Phone config page disable the Speakerphone and reset the phone. 3.Now on the phone press "NewCall" softkey, the speaker button on phone goes ON and OFF, that should not happen on the phone. 4.Also some times you can observe speaker icon appears and disappears on the phone' s status bar when you press "NewCall" softkey.Condition: Phone load 7970: 8.0(0.50) CCM version: 5.0.1.51-31Workaround: none

Please try upgrading the phone firmware.
