All,
I'm using a Cisco router running Call Manager Express (if you can't tell its somewhat dated) and would like to set up an FXO trunk to ring into the system and then if no answer, ring to a SIP extension/trunk to the third party SIP voicemail system.
Just for kicks, I have an older CME software, I have 7900 sets running Skinny, dial plan for internal numbers is 2000, the voicemail "pilot" I'd like it to be 4000, the SIP trunk on the other side is set to 4001 to receive calls and 4000 to check the voice mail box. The FXO is ulaw (North America) and for all outside calls is set to 10 digits (plus 1.)
A visual idea is
Outside trunk -> FXO trunk card -> Cisco CME -> Extensions/IP Telsets (Skinny sets) -> SIP voicemail (no answer)
This trunk also has Caller ID, which I'd like to retain when it transfers to the voicemail system.
The SIP system is onsite, and would share the same private IP subnet used with the CME.
When I find answers, I'm get a lot of theoretical and terminal dumps. My trouble is not how set it up, it's how to tell IOS the right way. After spending an hour with the IOS, I just want to call it day.
If someone can help me through specifically what to tell the router, I'd appreciate it.

Hi,
Going by what I have read thus far makes me believe that, all you are looking forward for is a SIP Integrated Voicemail solution.
If you could post the configuration, we can definitely be more helpful, however to begin with, the solution could be implemented by following the guide as below
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmeadm/cmevmail.html
Please let us know if you need any more help with this and we shall be glad to help

Due to corporate policy, I cannot paste configs (nor is it right to begin with.)
I'll repeat what I have
an FXO trunk using uLaw
A CME with a pilot number beginning with 2000 (likely under connection-plar opx)
the call rings to various numbers for about a half a minute. The current setup is the telco takes the call after 6 rings, but the CME will ring on the last two, which is why it was a need to install an inhouse SIP server for Voice mail. I don't want to mention it's name here, but its that infamous open source telephony service that runs on Linux.
instead of using the provider's voice mail, I'd like to have the CME take the call immediately, ring the sets and then if there is no answer, then transfer the call through SIP (likely that session-target) to that aforementioned voice mail.
The problem is I get a busy tone.
If someone can please assist me how would I enter into IOS a route-like pattern, it would be appreciated (instead of the typical Cisco white paper-like documentation.)
(Oh and I'm a phone guy, so data isn't my biggest strengths - if this helps.)
