Cisco CUBE Licence

Hi All

If I buy say 10 x ISR bundle, each with 10 CUBE licences  - can I use one of the ISR as my SIP gateway and have all 100 CUBE licences hosted on the one ISR?

As the ISR bundle comes with CUBE licences (and lets face it they are not free as they are bundled into the cost of the ISR) are pretty useless if I want to deploy a centralised SIP solution in order to take advance of the cost savings of SIP oversubscriptions etc.

Seems unreasonable to have to pay for another 90 licences when I have brought them with other devices on which I cannot use them.

Appears to be double dipping by Cisco if its the case.

Anyone know the offical stance by Cisco ?

cheers

Hi,

It doesn't seem to be feasible as per the following

Can CUBE licenses be transferred?

  • No, CUBE licensing is not transferable between chassis at this time.

  • FL-CUBEE-XX licenses can be bought for any ISR-G2 platform, but cannot be transferred between platforms.

  • FL-CUBEE-XX licenses are only for ISR-G2 (that is, you buy FL-CUBEE-5—it applies to a single ISR G2 that you buy it for, which could be a 2901, 2911, 3925, and so on, but only a single platform.)
