Cisco CUCM 7841 line answer

Hi everyone,

 

On a multi-line phone, is there a way to have the line only answer line one when the handset is lifted? 

 

As an example, if line 2 is ringing, and the handset is lifted, I want line 2 to keep ringing.  The only way that set can answer line 2 is by pressing the line 2 button.

 

I am working with CUCM version 12 and have cisco 7841 IP phones.

On the phone configuration page (not the DN), there is a field "Always Use Prime Line". Set that to "On" to accomplish what you want.

That will set this on a per-phone basis. You can use the BAT bulk edit feature if you need to set this on a bunch of phones.

If you want to set this system-wide, there is a CallManager Service service parameter of the same name that you can set to On.
