Does the 500 series headset offer the ability to hear incoming calls via the headset? (ring through the headset?)
The user sometimes is away from the desk and would like to have audible alerts through the headset for incoming calls.
Thanks in advance.
Yes, the 561 & 562 will provide an audible tone to give the user the ability to answer an incoming call via headset. You would need to configure "headset hookswitch control" on your phone/device in CUCM for this to work properly.
I have been testing in our environment and unable to get the audible incoming call alert to work with the Cisco 561 and 562 Standard Base station model per Cisco's recommendation. I have verified the Wireless Headset Hookswitch Control is enabled (override enterprise settings checked as well). Reviewing Cisco's documentation states there is a limitation of the headset 1.05 firmware version and to upgrade. We are currently using 1.5 firmware. Are there other settings I should be changing to get this feature functioning?
Our Cluster deployment is:
Cisco 88XX series (8811,8841,8851,8861)
Active IP Phone Firmware: sip88xx.12-5-1SR1-4
Headset Firmware version: 1-5-1-15
This is still an open Bug;
Are there any updates on how to get alerts of incoming calls to come through the 561 headset. We just purchased it, and seem to be have issues with this, and would prefer not to send it back?
Alternatively does Cisco offer any wireless headset that does not have this bug so our receptionist and other users can hear when an incoming call when they are not directly at their desk?
