Hi, I have one-way audio problem in my Cisco IP communicator 8.6.1.0. I am using Aventail 10.0.3.48 VPN client.

I found a workaround on your site, but please give me some corrections:

Workaround:

Disable GQoS functionality via the registry.

1) Add key "AudioQOSMode" under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco

Systems, Inc.\Communicator"

2) Disable GQoS and TOS by setting the "AudioQOSMode" value to "0".

I am not sure what type of values shall I add to registry. Please give me some more details!

Thank you in advance!

Hi, I could manage to add this entry however I have still one-way audio communication. Is there anything else I can do against it on client side? Did I go wrong somewhere?

I would appreciate your quick reply!

Best regards,

Karoly

This workaround you mentioned above is at http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCsi88016 It seems to be a caveat/bug for an older IP Communicator version than you are using.

What we did to get this working was to configure the IP Communicator to use only G.729 codec. It seems Aventail VPN doesn't support transcoding. If you change the configuration to ensure G.729 codec then your IP Communicator will work.

Another issue we are facing with Aventail VPN and IP Communicator is that we have to close and open the IP Communicator software after we established the VPN connection. Not sure if Cisco or SonicWall will get this solved in the near future. We are still looking for a solution. Cisco said Aventail is not a VPN supported solution for IP Communicator. SonicWall is still gathering more information to try help us.

Aventail Connect version 10.5.3.55

Cisco IP Communicator version 8.6.1.0

If you have any additional information regarding this issue it will be most than welcomed.
