Hello,
I am working on a solution to allow 4 digit dialing between Call Manager and an Altigen phone system. The Altigen needs to register to a SIP Server. Can a Cisco router be configured to be a SIP server? Desired end result is to have calls come out the SIP trunk on the Altigen and get over to Call Manager. I was thinking if both systems had SIP trunks up to the same router I could route the calls that way. Anyone care to confirm or correct?
Thanks in advance. All replies rated.

Hi,
certainly, a router may function as a SIP proxy, but is there any reason you cannot use CUCM as the SIP registrar for that Altigen system?

I knew I could to CUCM to CUCM over SIP but was not sure about CUCM to Altigen. Thanks Gergely!
