Cisco unity connection Integration with CUCM 9.1.2

Hi All,

 

We are planning to Install Cisco unity connection 9.X and will be integrated with our CUCM 9.1.2

 

My queries:

1. do both the vesions should match? I mean lets say I have cucm 9.1.2 do I have to install only CUC 9.1 and upgrade it to 9.1.2?

 

Also can any one share the link or guide to install the same which will include hardware matrix and server requirement installation guide

Hi Ajith,

You can refer Table 6  which says IM and Presence Service Release 9.1(x) is supported only with Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 9.1(x).

even if u do not upgrade IM & P , it is still compatibile.

The installation and upgrade guides for CUC are available on cisco.com

cisco.com -> Support -> All Products
Then either:
a) use the decision tree to look for the product
b) click the "Select a Product" drop down, scroll for the product, or type in the name of the product

Hello Jaime,

I have CUCM 9.1.2.20000-5

We also have IM & Presence 9.1.1.20000-5 so upgradeing the CUCM 9.1.1 to 9.1.2 will impact my IM & presence

will there be any version mismatch? please sugest

Do I also have to upgrade the IM & presence?

How to determine IM&P and CUCM compatibility??

Starting with releases 9.x there is no longer a mix and match between CUCM and IM&P, they need to be aligned in the same major release.
For the most part, CUCM and IM&P need to be on the same X.Y level, for example:

  • CUCM 9.1.2.12900-11
  • IM&P 9.1.1.51900-1

They both match at the 9.1 level and are compatible, even if they are not in the same MR, as long as they keep in 9.1, they will be compatible.

At this time, the only release that breaks the rule is 10.5(2):

IM and Presence Service and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Upgrade to 10.5(2)
IM and Presence Service Release 10.5(2) is compatible only with Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 10.5(2).

Which as you can see, needs to match at the X.Y(Z) level, always make sure to review the Release Notes for the product before upgrading or installing to make take into account any special considerations like the above.

Ok !!! but I heard latest patch is IM and presence 9.1.1SU5 and which is mendatory.
