Is cisco Unity compatible with call manager express?

I built a call manager express quote with cisco quote builder with unified messaging and it sends me a cisco unity hardware and license.I was expecting a call unity express(CUE).

Yes definitely. You can simply configure in the quote builder Unity for UM as if you are integrating with Callmanager. THe integration between Unity and CME is still skinny.
