Cisco VG350 Not Registering with CUCM.

Sachin Shinde

Hello All,

We have Cisco VG 350 we have configured with SCCP protocol with CUCM 11.5 but we are not getting it registered with cucm.

Note: We have not yet connected and configured analog FXS ports in it.

Please suggest if there is any command to check registration status with CUCM on VG 350 gateway because on CUCM it is not showing the gateway status.

Thank You.

Hi,

It looks good now, few things missing:

Add a dial-peer as:

Example: dial-peer voice 77 pots
port 2/0/0
service stcapp

>> Reset the port once on CUCM and see what the status comes up to be.
>> Paste a screenshot if possible.

You need to configure the FXS ports in CUCM

Hi,

Please find attached required details.

Thank You for your prompt reply.

Thanks,

Sachin S.

Hi,

You do not have the complete configuration done on the gateway.

Follow this doc:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice/skinny-call-control-protocol-sccp/211575-CUCM-Auto-Configuration-for-SCCP-Gateway.html

Hope this helps.

Bijo

Does it mean that if i configure fxt port and connect  analog Phone to it then only it  will get show VG350 status register on CUCM?

Sachin

hi Sachin,

Not just that, you need to configure the gateway too.
Gateway configuration is not complete for it to show registered on CUCM.

Refer to the document I gave you, it should be able to take you forward.

Hope it helps.

Bijo

I have followed the document and i found Gateway is register with CUCM but on CUCM side it is still not showing register status.

Note: I have configured FXS port in the router but still  have not connected analog phone to it as i have no Cable to connect to it.

Please find below out which shows some " Error History "

Hi,

>> Can you paste a screenshot of the status of the gateway that you see on CUCM?
>> Can you attach the output of (from gateway):

# sh sccp
# sh stcapp dev summ
# sh run

>> Configure any of the port and see if you get the output that you are expecting to see.

Thanks,
Bijo

Hi bijo,

Thank You for your prompt reply and support.

I have configured Dial-peer in the VG 350 and found Voice-port 2/0/0 is registered with my CUCM. PFA

Below are my few queries,

Do i have to manually configure pots Dial-Peer for every analog port on VG350?

Still VG350 Gateway shows unregister on CUCM ? Refer VG0nCUCM attachment.

Voice-Port 2/0/0 still not connected to Analog Phone but on Phone page it shows registered with CUCM?

Once again thanks for your great help...

Sachin Shinde

Hey Sachin,

Glad it worked for you and thanks for the appreciation.

As per the doc it says dial-peer should get automatically created by UCM.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice/skinny-call-control-protocol-sccp/211575-CUCM-Auto-Configuration-for-SCCP-Gateway.html

If in case they don't, you would need to manually create for that port.

Bijo

As far as the status on CUCM goes, I believe it remains none as we are adding the ports as analog endpoints.
Till the time you have the individual port status showing registered, you should be good to go.
Also, the registration status is irrespective of whether you have any physical device connected to it or not.
