Hello,
I will like to know if this switch supports POE, I cannot seem to find it anywhere on the Cisco site. It has an IPBase IOS that does not support POE I think. Does anyone know up whether upgrading to a higher IOS will enable POE?
Basically i will just like to know if this model of the series supports Poe
Thanks

Thats odd,
I spoke to a cisco support engineer today on the phone who confirmed an IOS upgrade would enable the future to power on Phones. Was he laying?
This is very conflicting
Also according to this PDF it does, so who is right?

How can software upgrade provide power? Guy you spoke to was confused.
See this link for better explanation:

Notice that only the PS units are POE capable.
Alos, the PDF you provided does not say anything about POE.

The PDF does say that, please scrow down and read the PoE section it clearly says it does. Did you even bother to read it?

Yes, I did bother, but it seems you chose not to belive what I am telling you. The whole section in this doc is generic for any 3560 switch:
Power over Ethernet
The Cisco Catalyst 3560 v2 Series
From the data sheet I provided you see:
Cisco Catalyst 3560G-24TS: 24 Ethernet 10/100/1000 ports and 4 SFP-based Gigabit Ethernet ports; 1RU
as oppose to
Cisco Catalyst 3560-24PS: 24 Ethernet 10/100 ports with PoE and 2 SFP-based Gigabit Ethernet ports; 1 RU
TS models are not POE switches.

The best way to find out whether or not your appliance can support PoE is the command "sh power inline". If you see your ports in the output then PoE is supported. If not ...
