CLI program Cisco 7960 with Side car

Good Day,

I wanted to know how to program a 7960 phone w/ dual side car using CLI.  Do I need to change template and just program extensions using DN's? 
The business I am working with had to replace a phone that was dropped and a friend reached out to me asking if I can reprogram the reception phone.  He has been unable to get CCP or CME GUI working or program the phone correctly.  He wants to get the phone programmed 1st then circle back to work on CCP and CME GUI. 

I tried walking him thru process but he says it's not working.  I was unable to find documentation so I was reaching out to get some assistance before I go there this Saturday.
