CME 12.0 Outbound Caller-ID issues

Michael Durham
Level 4
Level 4

I have a SIP trunk for my VoIP and my SIP provider has my CNAM registered as JeffDMD and I have verified that via https://apeiron.io/cnam while https://calleridtest.com/ does show the previous CNAM info, that is not the issue I am asking for help here.

I have three DID's, 9 ephon-dn numbers, one inbound (main number) and 8 outbound.  I also have a fax number setup on a FXS card.

The problem is that sometimes (randomly) when I place an outbound call on the IP phone, the name of the phone comes up on the caller-id unit of the person that I am calling (not the old CNAM info).  ie: I place most calls from the Cisco phone named Receptionist One and 95-99% of the time the called number sees my number correctly and they see the CNAM of JeffDMD as they should. But, every once in a while they will see the caller-id as Receptionist One. And, this happens to different called numbers, not just the same recipient.  Any idea how I can be sure that ALL outbound calls made via the VoIP phones show my business name and not the phone's name?  My config is below.

Hi,

You can use sip normalization rule with sip profile to overwrite any cnam
in your sip messages with the preferred one. This ensures consistency.

I am currently on mobile app and unable to type the command syntax but
there are many examples about sip profiles to overwrite cnam in sip messages

**** please remember to rate useful posts

How do you do this with Call Manager Express only?  No server based CUCM.

SIP Profiles are IOS features so can be configured in CME.  You create the profile and apply to the appropriate dial peer.  Easiest way to assist would be if you could post up an example of an Invite that results in the incorrect caller ID, and point out the bits that you'd like to change.  Then we can help with the syntax.

Sorry it has taken so long to get back with the information.

Here is the config changes that I have made. I am not sure this is correct or if I need to do more changes. The one problem with this is that I need to have seventries in the voice class sip-profiles 1 section, one for each phone. Is there any way to have just one entry?

!
voice class sip-profiles 1
request INVITE sip-header From modify "Debbie Home Office" "DrJeffDMD"
!
dial-peer voice 150 voip
voice-class sip profiles 1
!

Below is the results for a completed call. The parts in bold concern me.

What's your concern regarding the bit in bold?

Regarding multiple lines in the SIP profile, what do you need to achieve?  If the issue is that your phones present multiple possible names and you want to convert these all to the same value, you should be able to do that with one line using wild cards.  Do you want to put up an example of a message where the name is wrong, and note what you want it changed to?

Shouldn't the line in bold be the same as the others?  Like this "From: "DrJeffDMD" "

Would the wildcard line look like this? request INVITE sip-header From modify "*" "DrJeffDMD"
