I've seen one post on here about a Pitney Bowes postage scale, Call Manager, and FXS ports. My setup is somewhat the same, except the customer has a T1 delivering 17 loopstart channels.

The other topic somewhat strayed away from the subject.. has anyone else had experience with this? The T1 is error free, and faxes are working properly, however the postage scale cuts off halfway through negotiation.

I haven't tried lowering the baud rate on the PB scale yet maybe that will be my next step. I didn't do much on the router side either though except for turning off comfort noise on the fxs port. Would the rate disabling under 'voice service pots' have any affect? Thanks in advance.

You are right, squeaky clean T1.

You can try adjusting the levels a bit on the fxs ports, but I'm not sure it will help.

anyone else have any input on the subject? it sounds like the baud rate needs to be lowered on the machine.. but any other ideas are appreciated.

I ran into a similar problem with a PB machine at an University Mailroom working off a VG248. Faxes worked fine, but the PB modem would not establish connection. The solution was to drop the output levels on the VG248 port (output attenuation, around 6 or 9 db).

The audio signal was to strong for the modem, since it was only about 50 ft of copper wire between the VG 248, and the PB machine.

Looked here for assistance. I had issues with Pitney Bowes postal machine connecting. Found slips on the PRI interface (0/1/0). Issued the network-clock-select 1 T1 0/1/0 command and resolved the problem.
