CME Question

I have a customer that has a 6 line phone in CME. If they wanted all 6 lines to be able to takes calls for the same number so that they do miss a call and can put a bunch of callers on hold, what would that look like from a configuration example?

Would they just forward to the next line when the dual-line has two calls in use on the first button or can they use a no huntstop type configuration?

This is one way you could do it. voice-port 0/1/0 is connected to your incoming PSTN number. When it gets a call it automatically forward it to DN 1000. DN 1 (1000), dn 2, dn3 and so on are defined as line buttons on the six line phone. First call comes into 1000. 2nd call comes into 1002 if 1000 is busy and so on. The other way to do it is to use the ephone-hunt series of commands with a pilot number.

Another way to do it is to create 6 dn's with the same number, using huntstop channel and no huntstop incoming calls will hunt from dn to dn.

First ephone method uses all six lines, second method uses one line with overlays.
