CME SIP Phone Calls in one-way (inside local network)

Martin Bauer

Hello everyone, first time here, need a little help.

I'm having some trouble to find a solution to the following problem.

Recently I've installed CME 9.1 using the router 2921. Most of the phones are SIPs, model 3905 (around 20 of them), with the last firmware updated.

Some users are complaining one way audio issue in internal calls, from a extension to another (only in sip phones)

With Wireshark capture I could see that RTP packets are being sent and receive by the router and not directly trough the phones. Is this normal in CME? When a call with problems occours (one way audio) there is no audio in one way, but router still sends confort noise packets.

Here is my config.

Thanks for any help.

Martin

Hello Purna,

My guess is the phone is not finding the firmware file, did you put in some subdirectory of flash?

The phone tries to search the file in root flash, you could set alias with the command tftp-server to help the phone to find the firmware

In meantime do the following: debug tftp events and restart the phone, check the messages and post the results.

Thanks,

Mártin

yes actually  I tried with debug tftp events but the debug shows nothing..seems the phoen even does not try to look for the firmware..actucally the firamware is in flash..not in a sub folder,

any thoughts would be really helpful ,

Was an issue with the TFTP IP address , we have upgraded the firmware .to ES2 , but still the issue is there even when calling within the LAN numbers....

Hi,

Issue is still there actually..when i type

show voice register pool phone-load

it does not show the newly upgraded firmware..it is showing the previous load which was there...can i please have an advice on this ?

Thanks

Purna

Hi ,

We have upgarded the the firmware to the  3905.9-2-2ES2 , but show voice register pool phone-load still shows the old firmware, but the phoen itself is showing the new upgraded version on the dsiplay ...any advice is highly appricated,

I know this may be a little late to respond but here it goes anyway.

If you check the phone page (put IP address of registered phone in the browser) you will see the firmware version. Like this:

In my router the print for the command "show voice register pool phone-load" is showing "Cisco-CP3905/9.2.1" too, so don't rely on this.
