My SCCP phones in the CME 8.6 environment are showing incorrect time. I do not have option to select correct timezone under telephony-service configuration. I have deployed a CME in Nepal and it is in the timezone +5.45 (345 minutes offset from UTC). IOS itself show the correct time as it is synced with the internal NTP server. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dear
use the below
R(conf)#clock set...
R(conf)#ntp sever (IP address of your ntp server).Note (if you have internal NTP, do not use NTP master command).
R(conf)#calender set.....
R(conf)#telephony-service
R(conf-telephony)#time-zone ..
R(conf-telephony)#date-format dd-mm-yy
thank you

The problem is I do not see the proper time zone number corresponding to the Nepal time which is +5.45 offset from UTC.
the nearest time zones are either 39 (India) or 40 Central Asia both of which are 15 minutes away from Nepal timel.

Hey bkhanal1971,
You could try to use the following command in global conf.
clock timezone GMT -3 -5
Where -3 stands for hour and -5 for minutes.

That does not help either because that command is entered in the global config mode rather than under the "telephony-service". My understanding is that the phones will get the time based on the the timezone specified with the command "time-zone xx" under telephony-service configuration mode. So if I choose timezone 39, my phones will go by 15 minutes faster and if I choose 40, they will go behind by 15 minutes.

Hi,
create your ntp server, let the UTC clock with -15 min , then use time zone +360. It will solve your issue.

My problem still remains unresolved. Following are the excerpts of the configs:
running config
------------------------
clock timezone UTC 5 45
ntp server x.x.x.1 prefer
ntp server x.x.x.2
telephony-service
-------------------------------
time-zone 39
date-format dd-mm-yy
cmerouter#sh clock
19:06:06.853 UTC Tue Feb 26 2013 -> it is the correct time
However, my phones still show the incorrect time (15 minutes faster than it should be because the time-zone 39 is faster by 15 minutes. If I change the timezone from 39 to 40 then the time in the phones will go behind by 15 minutes. I tried what Anas sugguested but didn't work. My phones pick the time based on the time-zone configuation under telephony-service and it is not affected by whatever is the time setting in the global config mode. Am I missing something here?

I got a idea, but haven't tested. Maybe you could use summer time to adjust your clock.
Use:
(config)#clock summer-time 1 date mar 1 2015 08:00 dec 12 2015 08:00 ?
<1-1440> Offset to add in minutes
In this case you should use like a permanent summer-time, setting the end date to many years ahead.
I guess its worth to try out...
Good Luck,
Mártin

Martin: Thanks for the effort. Your idea is good but it does not help me because the phones are getting their time based on the timezone configured under the telephony-service configuration. We need to find a way to tell phones to get their time from the local CME router clock, not based on what timezone is configured under telephony-configuration.
Thanks

What a pity to see that you are low rating postings that are made with a genuine will to help.
I suggest that you stop doing that, otherwise it is in the experts options to delete their postings, and ignore your further requests.
To partially compensate, I've re-rated the postings above.

Oops...believe me, it was completely unintentional. The fact is that sometimes I don't get the rating buttons work for me and I don't know why. Those buttons are greyed out and don't respond to the clicks. Thats probably why I didn't rate those responses.
I love this forum as I have been getting so much help from the people like you so there is no question of not rating someone's contribution. I usually rate +5 for most of the responses considering that someone has put efforts trying to help me solve MY problems.
Thank you

Thank you for explaining the issue. I've asked forum admins to introduce confirmation for low ratings, so that won't happens easily again.
