Comm to an external light column when incoming call is detected

Hi there,

I was hoping for some help. I need to be able to communicate from a Cisco phone server to an external light calling column on a ship. The light calling column (just a light that flashes when a call is incoming) only has a dry contact closure input.

When the phone in the engine room rings, the light will illuminate.

How is this achievable? Thanks in advance

There are SIP devices on the market that work as strobe alerters. You would register them as a phone with the same extension as the engine room phone and it will activate at the same time as the primary phone rings.

Alternatively you could install a Cisco analog adapter like a VG202XM or VG400 again register an analog line with the same extension and use the RJ11 analog port to connect to more traditional call alerting products.

Some of these may have a relay output so you can use your existing strobe or just swap it it out for an all in one analog strobe.
