I have a client using CME with a longest idle hunt group. They are complaining that customers get ring tone but no phones ring. This is intermittent and the ephone-hunt statistics would indicate this with a 50% abandon rate,or the phone is being ignored any ideas how to prove the phone is not ringing on calls.

Well, to 'prove' that, you would need to have the call active, and output of "show ephone ring".
Anyway, which exact IOS are you using? Can you upgrade to 12.4(11)XJ4 and try again.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I assume you need to catch the incoming call and see if any of the phones ring at that time with the intermittent nature it would be hell. The IOS is c2801-IPVOICE-MZ-123-11.T6.bin. The obvious thing would be to upgrade and see.

Further update. It seemsthe problem is with all calls not just hunt groups. The caller heres ring tone but the phones don't ring. Same happens if a transfer is attempted it can ring but the called party does not get the phone ringing.
This is intermittent.
Any help appreciated

Yes, please upgrade to 12.4(11)XJ4 that has a lot of bug fixed and is stable.
