Conference Bridge Question

I have probably a very straightforward question.

My CUCM is a central site distributed model where we have IP phones over the WAN. Our remote site does have a hardware conference bridge that is on their site. My question(s) are:

If I setup a conference at HQ with a user at a remote site we both use my local conference bridge correct?

If a user there initiates a conference with 4 people at the HQ, is the remote site HW conference bridge used? If so, is it possible that a conference like that would utilize the bridge local to the majority of users that are in the conference?

I hope these make sense.

Hi Paul,

The phone that is initiating the conference will utilize the conference resources located in their respective MRGL and MRG's.  In your HQ example, it will utilize the media resources configured in their MRGL, so if they have them configured for local resources, then yes they will be utilizing their local resources.

If you want your remote site to utilize the conference resources at the HQ location, simply configure their MRGL to utilize the HQ conference resources.
