I have a strange issue,,. I have two locations approx 2000km apart. Two susbscripers 8.6.2a each location.. Two gateways..
Hardware conference resources in each location., All g.711. voice class in gateways have g.711 , 729, etc. Also each media groups have transcoders hardware / software conference bridges.
If I call into site "A" then conference into site "b" conference works, If I do it from site "B" to site "A" conference fails and gets fast busy.
Logs seem to point to codec mismatch regions are all g711. Nothing seems to make sense.
Calls work both ways work fine. Calls from "A" out "B" PRI's work fine.
Only conferenceing fails.
I am going to try a "meet me" as well as atransfer from "B" to "A" but that is stretching.
Any ideas would be appreciated

If conference is failing due to a codec mismatch in the logs then there are two possible reasons:
1) Transcoder or hardware conference bridge is either not present in the MRGL or not getting allocated due to all sessions being already used or due to incorrect postion in the MRGL ( example having a software resource at the top and hardware resources in an MRG at the bottom )
2) The calls may be invoking a g729-g729 scenario, in that case the transcoder won't work.
So, you need to verify the region settings on the call manager between the phones --- transcoder / hardware cfb --- trunk / gateway as well as on the dialpeers ( if involved )
Check the Media resource manager messages in the traces after the conference softkey is pressed the second time to complete the conference, it will provide information on whether the transcoder / cfb resource was available or not for the call.

Manish, thank you, I will check the logs..
The CFB hardware is at top of MRG followed by Software CFB.
I usually create MRGL"S ie: hardware CFB foloowed by software CFB then create MRG. I have found thru the yeas that by creating list for all the resources , if I have any issue I can just remove list from group without affecting anything else.
I will check logs in am and let you know.
Thank YOU
