Configure IP Phone 7821 on CME 10.5

I believe the 7821 are supported on CME 10.5, but I'm waiting for my SmartNet activation to download the LOAD files. 

 

Can I configure IP Phone 7821 without the LOAD file?

 

Another question here, using CME 10.5, can I configure IP Phone 7821 as any other SIP Phone, I've seen some documents says something about Fast Track configuration, but I'm not sure for which CME version this applies and do I need to do it on CME 10.5 (latest)?? How to configure in Fast Track, Can someone help me here?

Please share the output of debug ccsip mess and debu tftp pack. Also, at what message is the phone stuck.

Hi Mohammad,

7821 is supported on CME 10.5 as per the following

Load should be 10.1(1)SR1 or higher.

Hi,

We have an issue for our customer, you can see the topology in attachment file. In this network we have ip phone 7821, 7942 and 8831 linked to a router 2921 with c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.154-1.T1.bin and CME10.0. The issue is about the support and compatibility of 7821 and CME10.0 couse of that is something wrong after pressing, setting key or address book key the 7821 show us wich follow in the img1 and img2. After that shows the phone is blocked and unsable the only things possible is the restart with unplugging.

In the attchment you can see the show run of 2921.

Dear Sir,

We have two Sites .example site A and Site B.call manager Bussiness Edition 6000 is placed in site-A and Site-B phones are registered on this BE 6000 through VPN.In Site-B there is a SRST Router  for  the redundancy 

In site-B there is cisco 7975,7962 ,cp 6921 and cp7861 iphones

After finishing the configuration 7675 and 7962 is able to register on srst router after loss the connectivity of BE 6000.but  cp 6921 and cp7861 iphones are not registering on srst router.Please help me

Find the configuration SRST Router Configuration. Please let me know if  i should make changes,Because this is the first time im doing this.please help me

Hi,

 

You can configure the phones without load. The phones usually come with pre-loaded firmware. As long as you don't perform factory reset, the phones will work using the pre-loaded firmware.

 

Fast track isn't needed for 78xx on CME10.5. It is needed for 88xx phones.

What is the MAC address of your phone?

I noticed that many phones are requesting tftp files which don't existing in the CME. I need to know the specific mac address which you are testing (create in your CME).

 

The phones aren't reaching the registration stage

When I went through the output of the debug command, it sounds that the phone can't reach its config file on router. I've solved this by re create config profile for SIP phones:

 create profile

Now its working fine :)
