I have a scenario wherein the user has connected an USB Hub ( Make : HP 3005 PR Port Replicator) to the IP Phone.
The USB Hub has
- 2 ports of USB 2.0
- 2 Ports of USB 3.0
- 1 Ethernet cable to connect to the Network
- 1 Headphone port
- 1 Micorphone port
- 1 Display port
- 1 Flash Memory
Now the problem that I am facing is that the USB is connected to the PC Port of the Cisco IP Phone to get connected to the Network. Under normal circunstances the entire setup works fine. But on a daily basis, the IP Phone looses keep alives with the CUCM and goes to Configuring IP. The user needs to unplug the cable and plug it back and again works fine for a day. The phone is conected to Fast Ethernet port. Attaching the switch configuration for the user.
interface FastEthernet4/0/16
switchport access vlan XXX
switchport mode access
switchport voice vlan XXX
authentication host-mode multi-auth
authentication order dot1x mab
authentication port-control auto
mab
mls qos trust device cisco-phone
mls qos trust dscp
dot1x pae authenticator
dot1x timeout tx-period 2
storm-control broadcast level bps 5m
storm-control multicast level bps 5m
storm-control action shutdown
storm-control action trap
Is there something that can be configured in the switch so that the IP Phone does not loose its keep alives with CUCM. The problem occurs only when the USB Hub is connected to IP Phone. Any thoughts or suggestion for resolving the issue is greatly appreciated.
