Hi

I am trying to upload an MPP image.

The tftp server has the content

SEPD42C44855D8E.cnf.xml

And the contents of the File cp-78xx.11-0-1MPP-477.zip which includes

sip78xx.11-0-1MPP-477.loads.

the TFTP log shows the load of SEPD42C44855D8E.cnf.xml and sip78xx.11-0-1MPP-477.loads.

But the phone's log shows error below

I have used different load versions etc, but cant get the image to load

Any ideas what I am doing wrong

Hi All

I have now worked out the question I should have asked.

With the old 7900 series phone, I could move from SIP to SCCP loads

Can I change a CP-7861-K9 standard image phone to a MPP multiplatform image ?

If so how ?

Hi Mark

I'm having the same problem as you. The firmware installed on my Cisco 7841 (CP-7841-K9 V5) is sip78xx.11-0-11. I want to update this firmware to sip78xx.11-0-1MPP-477. I downloaded the firmware from the Cisco website and trying to installing it.

The TFTP request appears, but then I get "IMGAUTH_ERROR Verification Failure / image file failure (err:244)." This means the file's format/header doesn't match the expected Cisco format or is corrupt; the device refuses to write this image and remains at sip78xx.11-0-1-11 as the active payload.

Messages

The XML configuration received by the device gives "bad format" and "ASCII encoding invalid" errors.

SEP<MAC>.cnf.xml is downloaded, but there are warnings such as "The ASCII encoding is invalid" and immediately followed by "bad format config file"/missing SIP profile, proxy, etc. Therefore, the configuration is not applied.

If you solved this problem, could you enlighten me as well?
