Creating translation pattern for Call Manager

Matt Neyrinck

I am looking for a way to create new translation patterns for Call Manager that will stop our users from hair-pinning.

We own the following DID's:

715-845-1000 to 1369

715-845-1371 to 1499

We used to own 715-845-1370. We sold the number to company when they moved off our phone system.

We use 5 digit extensions. So 51000 to 51369.

If someone calls 715-845-1370 the call needs to go out the PSTN. If any of the other numbers are called internally I want the calls to stay with Call Manager and not go to the PSTN.

Hope this is the user dialing pattern 9.71584513XX.

You can do it different ways.

for sending only 9.7158451370 out to PSTN, u can add Route pattern with exact match.

for translating all other number which are in DID 9.715-845-1000 to 1369 and 9.715-845-1371 to 1499 you can try the below. Make sure u use proper CSS and Partitions asper your design.

SO you mean u need only 715-845-1370 to be sent to PSTN if any one called from internally. if you create a route pattern 715-845-1370, call will  be routed to PSTN.

and if some one call below numbers it should not go outside and it should be translated to 51XXX ?

715-845-1000 to 1369

715-845-1371 to 1499

why do users use full DID for calling extension ? they should be calling on extensions 51XXX right ?

Thanks for the reply.

We have a route pattern the covers the local number.

We have users who just dial 10 digits no matter what. We had users who dialed everything with a 1 up until a few years ago.

OK, that's definitely doable, how to do it, would depend on your current dial plan to determine how the TPs would need to be configured, simply but, make sure the best match for those is the TP that would remove the digits and call the internal DN.

Typically I used something like this 9.71584313XX.

However with us not owning 715-843-1370 anymore. Wondering if there is a way I can cheat with out having to make individual patterns for that series.

Hope this is the user dialing pattern 9.71584513XX.
