I need some calrity, the cost is huge. When I'm doing CUBE. Assuming I'm running G.711 on both sides (no transcoding) and I don't need any MTP (conferencing, etc.) do I need DSPs on a CUBE router? Does DTMF inband vs. out of band have any affect? Is there a good guide that shows when I need DSPs and when I don't when using CUBE for my SIP trunk?
No PVDMs are needed if you are not doing transcoding, MTPs can be either hardware (PVMD), software IOS (using router CPU, no PVDM, recommanded) or CUCM software. The CUCM SRND has a good section on this topic under media resrouces section.
