CUBE to SIP PSTN & Keep-alives

When running CUBE on a 2900 ISR to connect to a SIP PSTN provider, is a keep-alive packet required by the gateway in order to keep an RTP connection open? If it is, then is this an online or offline respones that is required, and with what frequency?

Appreciate any help.

Many Thanks

Norman

Norman,

Hi, No you dont need a keep alive to keep your rtp session open. Your session timers do that. Keep alives are only used via options ping to monitor the state of your sip trunks from a cucm perspective
