I am running Unity Connection v8 ( we have same problem with v7 on another site ) and am trying to fix the problem with caller ID for external calls . When i get a call from external line and caller leave voice mail message the caller ID should be visible on the message on IMAP and play in message option ( if i configure this) , but i get this line in header -"Message from Cisco Unity Connection Messaging System (Unknown extension)"
this is output from CUC debug , looks like call come in to CUC with caller ID ,
[callerID='0871233333' callerName='087123333' calledID='1942' redirectingID='1942' lastRedirectingID='1942' reason=4
this is configuration Outside Caller Messages " %D% %U% %P% Message from %NAME% (%CALLERID%)" for subject line format
is any idea what missed in configuration ?

I am having the same issue on a new 8.x install. Did you ever figure this out?
