Today i was trying to install cucm using touchless method. but i entered with the following error:

" Invalid password it is based on a dictionary word.

The password must be at least six characters long and can contain alphanumeric characters, hyphens, and underscores.

The password can not be based on a dictionary word. "

I dont why im gettting this. I tried it with different passwords in AFG file.

Also i tried to generate file using microsoft edge. with mozilla firefox im not getting xml file instead it gives html code.

The error message is pretty self explanatory, it needs to be pretty cryptic and follow all of the guidelines.  This needs to be the case for all 3 passwords: platform, security and application.

Have you considered using PCD for the new install, in my opinion much better option than the toucheless option, especially if you are building a cluster?

I too agree on what you said. but my question

if i gave a password for example, "pass-go0" why its not not accepting.

i have installed before without any issue for version 12.

but with touchless I'm facing this issue..

I would imagine because ‘pass’ is a dictionary word so it cannot be part of your password.  Change this portion to something like pa$$

"@" no more valid?
"Pa$$@go0" this is not valid too?

I would think that should be fine, perhaps except word ("go"), the only thing I can go by without trying is this section:

Password Recommendations

The installation wizard ensures that you enter a strong password. To create a strong password, follow these recommendations:

  • Mix uppercase and lowercase letters.
  • Mix letters and numbers.
  • Include special symbols.
  • Remember that longer passwords are stronger and more secure than shorter ones.

Avoid the following types of passwords:

  • Do not use recognizable words, such as proper names and dictionary words, even when combined with numbers.
  • Do not invert recognizable words.
  • Do not use word or number patterns, such as aaabbb, qwerty, zyxwvuts, 123321, and so on.
  • Do not use recognizable words from other languages.
  • Do not use personal information of any kind, including birthdays, postal codes, names of children, or pets, and so on.
