Hi,
We have deployed CUCM 6.1 cluster and client would like to integrate the same with existing AD infrastructure. However, we have following queries,
- If we select primary attribute as âtelephoneNumberâ to be mapped with userID, when user login into Call manager user page to update profile what will be the authentication?
SAMAccountName and password OR
TelephoneNumber and password
- As per as my understanding, AD does not support authentication against Telephonenumber as userID.
Appreciate if you could clarify the above queries.

telephoneNumber will be used as the unique cluster-wide user name within UC Manager if this is mapped as the primary attribute. UCM will map this to the CN in LDAP when performing a bind operation.

Thanks for your prompt reply.
So you mean to say user needs to enter "telephonenumber" for login into CCMUser page.

Yes if you choose that option.

Hi,
So how does AD authenticate against telephonenumber?

AD by no means doesn't prevent CUCM to authenticate against itself using telephoneNumber field. It just works.
