I am planning for a cluster upgrade from 7.1 to CUCM 8.5 on UCS and was surprised to see that 3550 POE is not comptaibile with this version, per compt matrix it is supported with CM 8.0 but not 8.5, the only question which bothers me is what is a switch has to do with CUCM version?
anybody knows what is the technical reason for this?

Hi Satish,
Where have you seen the compatibility of CUCm and Switch.

HI
This may be because 3550 is End of Sale and support long back, that is why they have not tested this switch.
As this switch is end of support. You may have to consider using new switch.

Hi Satish,
If you were looking at this doc;
This shows "tested" versions of hardware/software, not "supported" versions of
hardware/software. My thought is that the 3550 went completely EoL in May of
2011 which would have been before the testing was done and EoL products
would not be included in the Testbed
There should be no technical reason why they can't be used with CUCM 8.5
Cheers!
