Hi Wilson;

It could be this bug;

CSCub67519 Bug DetailsBug #4 of 43 | < Previous | Next >

CUCM 8.6.2.22900-9 BULK update of Phones triggers java exception error.
Symptom:
When updating phones with bulk, the phone configuration options page doesn't load and the following error appear
"Error occurred while retrieving information from database. java.sql.SQLException: A syntax error has occurred."

Conditions:
CUCM version 8.6.2.22900-9
Cisco Unified CM Administration page > Bulk Administration > Phones > Update phones >Query

Find (doesn't matter what filter you use, or even if you left it empty)

- the phone list page appear and right after clicking next (to Choose the phones you want to edit)
- the phone configuration options page doesn't load and the following error appear
"Error occurred while retrieving information from database. java.sql.SQLException: A syntax error has occurred."

Workaround:
Add  a working filter (e.g. Description - null value) with the affected  filter like 'Device Name' which lets us search by Device Name, CSS, etc.  bypassing the error.

This was introduced in ES 8.6.2.22039.1 due to CSCtx96255
You can also revert back to CUCM ES versions prior to 8.6.2.22039.1 or SU1.

Hi Wilson,

A couple of questions

What is the exact CUCM version?

Does this happen at this point?

Cisco Unified CM Administration page > Bulk Administration > Phones > Update phones >Query

Cheers!

I think Rob nailed it (as usual).  We ran into this and loaded SU3 and it seemed to do the trick!

Hi Rob,

Thansk a lot. I will apply the release 8.6.2 SU3
