Hi All,
We have a cluster of 3 call managers. We are planning to change the hardware of the Publisher from MCS 7825 I4 to VM. Hence i request your guidance to do the same which includes Licensing part as well. Main confusion part is Licensing for me.
Once the Publisher is free, we will be adding the same MCS as a subscriber in the cluster.
Regards
Sankar.

Hi Sankar.
All you need is to make a backup of your config through DSR, reinstall your PUB on a VM , restore the configuration through DSR.
Regarding License, you have two options:
- go to www.cisco.com/go/license and through this portal you can rehost your license specifying the newly generated License Mac. (faster)
- Write to licensing@cisco.com asking to rehost your license.
If you stay within the same version. you don't need to modify your license type

Hi Carlo,
Thank you for the reply. I need the procedure for generating License MAC on VM as i have gone through below URL and got confused. Is there any other way or "Show Status" would work on VM?
www.cisco.com/web/cuc_afg/index.html

Sankar.

Hi Sankar
Once you have installed the PUB on VM, a show status will display the license mac to specify on licensing portal to rehost your license.
