In this scenario, you cant login to GUI using admin & password and you cant login to CLI using appadmin & password

Hi Jack,
You need to do the reverse way.
You need to use admin and password for OS administration [whether GUI of OS Administration http://x.x.x.x/iptplatform or through CLI]
You need to use appadmin and password for Call Manager Administration page like http://x.x.x.x is ip address of CUCM server.

Accounts & Passwords:
Administrator ID & Password - administrator login credentials for the OS
Application ID & Password - These details are used for accessing the GUI for CUCM.
Try the username & Password issued on "Application ID & Password"
For resetting the application password, try the following from the CLI:
" utils reset_application_ui_administrator_password "
Other Options:
===========
utils reset_application_ui_administrator_name
utils reset_application_ui_administrator_password
utils reset_ui_administrator_name
utils reset_ui_administrator_password

Hello,
This is CUCM 8.6, uptill now i have installed 6 servers i never face such issue, the username & password for admin which is prompt at the time of installation i am using that for GUI login and it is not accepting, before this it never happenend with me like this.
I am able to login with application username and password which was prompted at the time of installation but not by the admin username and password in GUI

Hi Jack,
you might be using same user name and password for both OS & GUI which will allow to acess both GUI & OS with the single username and password. If you are using different username & password for OS & GUI, you will not be allowed to login vice versa

At the time of installation administrator login:
username:admin
password: password
At the time of installation applcation login:
username:appadmin
password: password
Now tellme when i do gui to CUCM IP i use username admin and password password
Is it the wrong way ???

Is it the best practice to keep the username different??
