Hi,
We are implementing a CUCM SIP trunk to a third party system.
This system sends SIP INFO Msgs for DTMF tones as described in RFC2976.
According to the CUCM 7 data sheet it supports RFC2976, but in the SRND guide it states that it only supports KPML for OOB signalling...
Any idea on what's the correct info?
Thanks,
Luk

Hi Luk,
I'm not 100% sure that CUCM supports DTMF via INFO messages. I know that gateways will support SIP via NOTIFY, but I don't think this is a supported DTMF method.
I would see if the third party system supports RFC 2833 (rtp-nte), KPML, or in-band DTMF.

Hi Nick,
Well this third party system needs to use the SIP INFO method...
Could you confirm that CUBE can be used with SIP INFO for DTMF so we can proxy the signalling through CUBE.

Hi Luk,
I can confirm 100% that CUBE does not support DTMF via INFO messages. There are a few INFO messages here and there that IOS will support receiving, but we do not support sending any INFO messages. This is because they are either deprecated or on the way to being deprecated on the grounds of not being well defined.
