CUCM Update Procedure

Peter Fiers

Hi,

we're going to update CUCM and IMP from ver. 11.5.1.13054-1 to ver. 11.5.1.14900-11 (SU4). Before switching versions, does the order of the installation of the new software on the different systems like publisher and subscribers matter or can we do the installation in parallel on every system?

Thanks for advising.

Peter

Yes it matters. You can't install on SUB if not installed in PUB even if in
inactive partition. Now in your particular scenario it might work as you
are in the main train. Check the compatibility matrix.

Also, I suggest don't reboot after installation. Make sure that you
complete installation on all inactive partitions then reboot.

Hi Mohammed,

thanks for your answer.

I've checked the compatibility matrix I could find, but I haven't found any information about this question in it. Do you have an URL for me?

But anyway, you mean when I've installed the pub in the inactive partition, I can continue with the subs in parallel. I suppose this restriction applies to IMP, too.

Regards

Peter

The 11.5 upgrade guide has all the information you need around the procedure and options for the upgrade (least time Vs least disruptive)

If you haven't reviewed it, that's the document you need to refer to.

Along with the RN for the specific release you're upgrading to in case there are additional considerations.
