CUCM Upgrade - 7.0(2a) to 8.0(3a)SU2?

Hi,

I am looking to update the software revision on our CUCM Cluster.  I am currently running on 7.0(2a) and would like to confirm if the highest direct revision I can get to is 8.0(3a)?  Then as far as I can see from 8.0(3a) i can get up to 8.6(1a).  I have not done a CUCM upgrade before so just want to be sure I am reading the tables right.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/compat/ccmcompmatr.html#wp349495

Additionally, I am unsure of hardware requirements for the newer versions.

The current hardware is:

HW Platform       : 7835H2

Processors        : 1

Type              : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU            5140  @ 2.33GHz

CPU Speed         : 2333

Memory            : 2048 MBytes

HDD                    :2x 146GB

I read on another post that more recent versions need 4GB of RAM, is that the case?

Thanks,

Franco

Thanks Gordon,

Do you know with regards to upgrading the RAM, can I buy pretty much any make i.e. Corsair in order to upgrade it to 4Gb- as loong as it is "PC2-5300 667-MHz DDR2 synchronous dynamic RAM (SDRAM) Fully Buffered DIMMs"

Thanks,

I'm not sure about Cisco's official line on this, but I suspect:

- If your box is under hardware support by Cisco then you'll need to have genuine Cisco/HP memory in there.

- If you don't have maintenance on the box, do what you like.
