Hello,
trying to plan an upgrade where I am on ESXi4.x and CM 8.6 and need to get to ESXi 5.x and CUCM 10.5. Do I upgrade ESXi first or CUCM?. Getting a bit confused with all the matrix reading
Thanks,

Depends on exact versions, look at the tables here, and see if your current CUCM version is compatible with the ESXi version you want to go, if not, check if your target ESXi version is compatible with your current ESXi version, and your target ESXi version.

Though CM 10.5 is not listed in the CM Virtualization docwiki specifically, however it should be supported as per below but please apply U4 on top of ESXi 4 at least since 10.x had that requirement so 10.5 should pretty much be the same

Go for ESXi upgrade first and then do CM.
