Has any one attempted to make the ASA phone-proxy work with CUCME 7? All the examples that I can find refer to full blown call manager and not express.
I've gotten the point where a remote phone is downloading a tftp config but rather than trying connect to CUCME on port 2443, it's trying to connect on port 2000. this makes me think that the tftp session is not really being intercepted properly by the ASA.
Any ideas?

There is a caveat in 8.0.4 CSCsu69083
It's been fixed in 8.2.1
Not sure if that's your problem but it's worth a look if you are running 8.0.4

This is a supported configuration now, and it should work.
I haven't personally done any work on it, other than find out it something that is supposed to work.

Hi Nick,
Do you happen to know what the supported versions are between the ASA and CUCME?

Try removing the tftp inspection:
BugID: CSCta54837
policy-map global_policy
class inspection_default
no inspect tftp
