We currently have CUEAC 8.5 and desktop Lync, We make use of the CUEAC with MS Presence the operators options. The issue we see is that the operator carries out a search using CUEAC and it seems that if the target is a contact in the operators own lync then the presence is correct however if the CUEAC search target is not in the the operators lync contact list then is seems that presence is not updated in CUEAC unless the operator carries out a search again in Lync and then CUEAC is updated correctly-
has anyone seen this, it seems the search from CUEAC to Lync is based upon the contacts only

Hi,
I am also having a similar issue with Presence not being updated if it is not in the local address book. Am running CUEAC 8.6.2.11 Client.
initial status is correct but any changes to status are not shown in search page whilst local contacts do.

Hi Peter,
This is working as expected and documented
Cisco Unified Attendant Console can view Microsoft Presence Information for contacts that have been added to the local copy of Microsoft Office Communicator.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucmac/arc/CUEACUGv8_6_x.pdf
The contacts must reside in the lync/communicator contacts list in order to properly generate status within the console. Users not within the contacts list are not going to properly update. This is due to the fact that CUAC relies on the local instance of lync/communicator for the status updates, thus if the client isn't requesting or updating contacts CUAC has no way of getting the updates.
