Custom Search Parameters in LDAP Directory

I'd like to create a LDAP Search Directory that a user can use to search based on Location. How do I go about doing so? This is for Cisco IP Phones. From what I understand I can create a new ASP and have parameters set, but I'm not sure of how to do so.
