Delay consult transfer with 8961

Hello,

I am having trouble with 8961 phone.  There seem to be delay specifically with consult transfer.  Here is the scarnio -

1. Party A calls.

2. I answer the call.

3. Party A asks for Party B's voicemail, extension 1000.

4. I perform a consult transfer.

5. When I hear Party B's vm greeting, I immediately completed the consult transfer.

6. Party A calls back stating that she didn't know who's vm box because she only hears the very end of the greeting.

So it seems that there is a delay for the phone to process the transfer.  Therefore, caller misses most of the greeting.  Is this is a phone defect?  Is there a firmware update that fix this issue?

My apologies.  There is a mistake in my scenario.  Here is the new scenario -

1. Party A calls.

2. I answer the call.

3. Party A asks for Party B's voicemail, extension 1000.

4. I perform a consult transfer by pressing the Transfer button, then dialing *1000

5. When I hear Party B's vm greeting, the Transfer button does show up after few seconds later.

Therefore, caller misses most of the greeting. Is this is a phone defect? Is there a firmware update that fix this issue?
