Remove the dial plan off the phone.

If you explain what it is you’re trying to accomplish by having the possibility to dial something removed we might be able to assist you better. The dial pad as such cannot be turned off, but depending on what you want out of not being able to use the dial pad there might be possible options at hand.

I tried to create a "ringdown" but couldn't get it to fly. Thought I could disable dialpad and assign SD to where I need it to go it could be a work around for now.

This document outlines how to setup PLAR on the phone. Configure CUCM Private Line Automatic Ring-down (PLAR)

Thanks, but that is the procedure I followed to the tee twice. There is something else I'm not aware of that's preventing it from working.

Can you please provide screenshots of your configuration for PLAR with a SIP device so that we can check it against the configuration guide? I’ve done this quite a few times and never had issues with it, so there is likely something in your configuration that isn’t quite right.

The part most people miss is the SIP Dial Rule that is a required part of a PLAR for SIP phones. Is that in place on the phone?

Yes, it is possible to disable the dial pad on a Cisco 7841 IP phone, but this is typically done through the phone's configuration settings, which can be managed by your network administrator or through the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). Disabling the dial pad is often used in scenarios where you want to restrict outgoing calls or limit the phone's functionality to specific purposes, such as hot-desking or kiosk modes.
