Disabling "ABC" Softkey on CUCM 8.6

Hi

How is it possible to disable the ABC Softkey on CUCM 8.6. I loaded already the newest dev-pack but there is also no possibilty to disable this key.

It has en impact for the rollout the 9.3.1 firmware.

greetings Phil

Where do you see that? What phone model, and which phone state (i.e. on-hook, etc)?

Chris

Hi Chris

This feature is new since 9.3.1.

When you enter a number for dialing you will see the softkey. At the moment we loaded 9.3.1 and 9.3.2 just on 89XX or 99XX phones.

In CUCM 9.0 with URI dialing is it a nice feature, if you need it, but you should have the possibility to disable it if not. And in CUCM8.6 it makes no sence to confuse poeple with a feature which is not available.

Onhook call initiation

The user must press the ABC softkey to switch the input method to URI Dialing mode using the keypad.

thx Phil

Right now it's not possible, and I just found out about this new feature and also the associated bug.

I already see some cases coming our way about this

Workaround:

Downgrade the firmware to a 9.2(x) version,  such as 9.2(4).

This workaround isn't one ;-) We have to upgrade to 9.3.1, because we have many problems in 9.2.x.

Also the speed of the frontend since 9.3.x is much better.

I see I have to go other ways to get a solution for us.

Ok, i'm resurrecting a dead thread from 2012 because it appears to be an issue with our current install.

CUCM 9.1.2.10000-28

I'm looking to disable the ABC/123 button and still cannot find where to do so.  We're trying to eliminate extraneous features for the customer experience to minimize confusion in the transition.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Matt
