Disabling the directories for IP Communicator

I have outbound agents I would like to disable the directories button from their IP Communicator.  Does anyone know how to do this?

Go to the phone in CUCM nad configure a fake url under the directory url. reset the phone.  That should do it

I should have been more specific...that would work for directories, but I wanted to remove the placed calls directory.  I have found the documentation to do this.  Thank you for your reply though.
